Summary

We designed Buzz Bunny, an AI-driven stock recommendation app for everyday investors, and built it in Flutter for iOS and Android. Onboarding completion rose from 62% to 91%, and the closed beta reached 1,000+ early users.

Overview

Buzz Bunny is a mobile investment platform that helps everyday investors make smarter stock decisions with AI-driven recommendations. It is built for iOS and Android with Flutter, and it pairs machine learning insights with a clean, human-centered experience.

The challenge

Most retail investors feel overwhelmed by stock market data. Existing tools are either too complex for beginners or too superficial for serious users. The opportunity was to design an app that feels as intuitive as Robinhood, yet as intelligent as an AI-powered Bloomberg terminal, with the right balance between trust, simplicity and predictive insight.

What we did

  1. Research and user mapping. We interviewed 15 early investors to identify pain points, and mapped their goals, frustrations and confidence levels around investment decisions.
  2. UX strategy and information architecture. We designed the journey around core loops: discovering personalized stock recommendations and learning through explainable AI insights. A clear navigation hierarchy keeps cognitive load low by using familiar mobile patterns adapted for financial data.
  3. Design system and visual identity. We built a modular design system in Figma focused on scalability and clarity. The palette pairs deep blue for trust with vibrant orange for energy.
  4. Prototyping and testing. We ran 5 iterative usability tests with both novice and active investors, and improved navigation and onboarding clarity based on their feedback.
  5. Development. We implemented the app in Flutter for cross-platform delivery, with real-time stock data APIs and custom AI models for recommendation accuracy.

Results

Onboarding completion increased from 62% to 91% after the third iteration of testing. Buzz Bunny then launched a closed beta with more than 1,000 early users and a 47% adoption rate. Users described the app as "simple, fast, and surprisingly accurate."

The result helped the founders attract early-stage investors and validate product-market fit within weeks. For us, the project showed that great financial design is not about showing more data. It is about making users feel confident in every tap.
